F-104A NASA
This is a F-104A with serial 55-2961 and now seen in a scheme as used by NASA with civil registration N818NA. This aircraft hangs from the ceiling of the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C, USA.

F-104 test aircraft
This F-104A was used at Edwards AFB for various test flights. It was fitted also with a F-104G tail section so is a "hybrid". It also flew for various NASA program. Now seen outside on display in āCentury Circleā of the AFFTC museum at the West Gate to Edwards AFB, CA, USA.

F-104C
This F-104C is over painted in a metal scheme and coded 70913 / FG-913. The scheme is not very accurate but is an early C- version. It is on display at the Palm Springs Air Museum.

The Japanese company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries manufactured under license the Lockheed F-104G under designation F-104J. It was used as interceptor. This F-104J coded 539 (46-8539) of the Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) was seen in the Ishikawa museum in Komatsu, Japan.

This F-104J coded 515 (36-8515) of the Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) was also used for tests by the Air Proving Wing at Gifu air base. It was seen in the Aichi museum in Nagoya, Japan.
